Prince George, B.C. – There was some activity at the new Prince George RCMP city detachment building at 4th and Victoria this morning. But no, the move is not underway just yet.
Our photographer was out and about and noticed a few police vehicles parked on 4th and on Victoria Street and some officers speaking with a security guard.
The watch commander at the Brunswick Street station says there was a false alarm at the new $38.95 million facility and the officers were responding to that. Apparently there are a few workers taking care of some tasks inside the building today.
The officers who responded took the time to have a quick look at what is soon to become their new workplace.
The latest information on the move indicates it could start as early as April 22nd and be complete by April 27th ( see previous story).

Had an out of town visitor over spring break. When driving through the city on our way to brunch, we passed this building. She asks “is that your city hall?” No, that is just our new cop shop.
“Holy Cow, that is awful fancy to be a cop shop.” she replied. Yes, and very expensive too…..
Looking forward to seeing the dang thing occupied and we can start amortizing the ridiculous expense out over several decades!
The criminals already trying to break in??? Can’t wait to get in???
