Prince George, BC – A suspect appeared in court yesterday to face a number of charges in connection with attacks on five young people in the city.

On Wednesday afternoon, Prince George RCMP received a report from a 14-year-old boy who claimed a man grabbed his arm and began making inappropriate remarks, near the area of 8th Avenue and Ewert Street.  Officers arrested a 30-year-old male suspect on Thursday and, at that time, said they were looking into the possibility the same individual was responsible for a number of similar incidents reported in the city over the past few months.

Matthew David Mikolajczyk appeared in BC Provincial Court in Prince George yesterday to face four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual interference of a person under 16, and one count of assault.

He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
