Prince George, B.C. – It was a record setting flu season in B.C.
The Provincial Ministry of Health says 1.4 million flu vaccine doses were distributed and 80% of health care workers were vaccinated.
The BC Centre for Disease Control says the vaccine this year, was 74% effective in protecting those who got the flu shot from contracting H1N1.
This was the first year the health authorities fully implemented the policy o requiring all health-care workers and visitors to make a choice between getting vaccinated or wearing a mask when in patient-care areas.
That policy is being credited with increasing the vaccination rate among health-care workers by 10% over last year, to a record high 80% vaccination rate.

Cue the conspiracy theorists and anti-vaccine idiots.
So what was the efficacy of the flu shot? Was it 100%? No! So why don’t they make everyone wear a mask that was vaccinated too! Sounds like Northern Health are the idiots. 24% thought they were safe but they weren’t and should of have had masks on. Until the flu shot is 100% effective they are risking peoples lives by allowing vaccinated people to go unmasked.
What a farce this is….
government i firing their stafff for not wearing a mask or getting a shot….
I an supposed to wear a mask if I didn’t get my flu shot if i went to the hospital…
I have been there often….
never wore a mask…
never asked to wear one…
nor was I ever even asked if i had my shot….
this whole government concern is a big fast sham ……….at best…
back off people, I had my shot but they never knew that….nor could they have proved it one way or the other wether I did or didn’t…
I wonder if they were debating these issues back in the early 1900’s when the Spanish flu killed tens of millions of people.
