It’s Official Horgan New NDP Leader

Thursday, May 1, 2014 @ 5:54 PM

Burnaby, B.C.- The deadline for  submitting an application has  passed, and that means, John Horgan  wins the  post as leader of the B.C. New Democrats by acclamation. Horgan replaces Vancouver-Kingsway MLA Adrian Dix as leader of the Official Opposition.

“Today New Democrats are uniting behind John Horgan’s strong leadership,” said Craig Keating, President of the BC NDP. “John is a leader who understands that BC needs a balanced approach to everything we do – ensuring that communities benefit as our province moves forward.”

“I want to thank outgoing leader Adrian Dix for his dedication and service to our party and his efforts to make BC a better place for everyone,” said Keating. “I know that as an MLA he will continue to be an effective advocate on important issues for his constituents and people across this province."

Horgan also  offered thanks to Dix  “I want to thank Adrian for his hard work and dedication as leader of the Opposition for the past three years. Adrian has a relentless commitment to community and works harder than anyone I know. He has been instrumental in building a strong, unified caucus, and will continue to be a tremendous asset for our team going forward.”

Horgan’s official inauguration will take place on Sunday, May 4 at 2:00 PM at the Renaissance Hotel in Vancouver.

How long before the loonie left wing of the party gets the long knives out?

And the first nickname is…….Hulk Horgan !

After the last election Christy is Wonder Woman and can easily handle someone even if they are all puffed up on steroids with a shrunken set of twins.

We the NDP need a new leader. We need someone with magic leftist words and leadership skills and is unable to make a profit selling popcorn. Job security until the next election. Apply within.

I think Horgan is great. Makes my day.

Whos horgan?

If he talks too much you can call him Mouth Horgan.

Stonekicker; here is some information about who John Horgan is.

Seem to be an alright guy, knows how to make a marriage work at least.

Meh.

Or Hogan… Hogan’s Heros…

This was a good choice,

It was not a choice. It was an acclamation because no one else wanted it.

So if none of the members want to be the leader, why do they want to be an elected representative?

Seems to me that the career path in a party will be to eventually lead the party and maybe be the premier, one day.

I can’t even say that word “Horgan” without stifling a yawn. Not a good sign.
