Postal Station Shut Down Over
Postal substation cordoned off for most of the afternoon – photo 250News
Prince George, B.C.- It took a few hours, but the white substance discovered at the Canada Post Sub station in the BCR industrial site in Prince George today , has been determined to be "non-hazardous."
Emergency personnel including police, ambulance and fire and rescue, were on scene at the station for much of the afternoon. The substation was cordoned off and no one was allowed in or out.
Northern Health had issued a "Code Orange" at the University Hospital of Northern B.C., prepared to accept between 5 and 19 people who might have been exposed to this substance.
But all is clear now.
While the susbtance has been deemed "non hazardous" officials are not saying exactly what the powder was. A similar scenario was being played out in Quesnel, where the trailer unit that had stopped at the P.G. postal site, had also made a stop.

Ohhh Godddd That’s what they do down there… Wondered why our mail is sporadic delivery..
Could be that someone won’t be getting their nose candy delivered by mail anymore?
Someone should check out the shipper to find out why their package leaked but then, the way Canada Post employees handle some of them, pretty good wrapping would be required to survive that!
Don’t ever mark anything FRAGILE if shipping with Canada Post. It will be tested to the limit.
Another day off with pay for government employees. Was the substance quite powder, on the kitchen counter perhaps? These guys are notorious for wobbles.
Gotta keep the terrorism paranoia alive!
