Girls’ Run For Fun Kicks Off Tuesday

Sunday, May 4, 2014 @ 4:07 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The RCMP Community Policing and Victim Services units are about to kick off a new Girls Run For Fun season this Tuesday.  And there are still spaces available.

Run for Fun is a unique program for girls.  Community Policing Coordinator Linda Parker says “I would love to encourage girls to register, it’s a great program, it’s free, it’s for girls anywhere in Prince George between the ages of 10 and 15.  It’s a great esteem-building program and they don’t necessarily have to run.  If you can’t run we’ll still challenge you but as long as you’re moving forward the girls are all welcome.  And again the program is free so I hope that they take advantage of that.”

Parker says “we start on Tuesday, May 6th and we’ll meet at the bandshell at Fort George Park every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 till 5:15.  The program will wrap up with a 5k fun run and picnic on Saturday, June 21st.

For more information and registration forms you can contact Linda Parker at 250-561-3319 or Krista Levar at 250-561-3373.
