Prince George, B.C. – The Red Cross is now coordinating information, relief and recovery services for the residents affected by the Latitude apartment building fire on Wednesday.
A reception centre has been set up at the Red Cross office at 1399 6th Avenue. It is open today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from May 5th to May 9th from 11 a.m. to 7 pm. Red Cross workers spoke with many of the affected people last night to get the ball rolling, but any tenants still requiring help can get it, although it is requested that you call ahead to make an appointment.
People still needing support can contact Red Cross at 250-564-6566 extension 41. The Red Cross is working alongside the Salvation Army, Ministry of Social Development, B.C. Housing, Northern Health and the Native Friendship Centre.
The Red Cross assistance is provided at no charge to the tenants affected by the fire. The agency is thanking local individuals and companies for their donations to the assistance effort.
