Wind Gusts Down Power Lines in Central Interior
Prince George, B.C. – The gusty northerly winds blowing through the Central Interior are not only cooling things off considerably, they are also responsible for power outages in the Prince George, Mackenzie and Vanderhoof areas.
B.C. Hydro reports a tree on hydro lines as the cause of an outage just before 9 this morning which has left 249 customers without electricity in an area north of Pedscalny Road and south of the Beaver Forest Road. Hydro estimates the problem will be corrected by about 11 am. Five customers in the 2800 block Koroa Road area have lost their power while 5 more at the Powder King Village are also in the dark, both outages due to trees across lines. Power should be restored late this morning or early this afternoon.
207 customers near Vanderhoof are without power in an area north of Highway 16 and south of Highway 27. The cause of that outage is under investigation.

Prince George, Mackenzie and Hooterville is the “Central Interior?” Looks to me a lot of signs and stuff need to be changed in this town. For example: How about Central Toyota instead of Northern Toyota? Toyota dealership in Ft. St. John should be named “More Northern Toyota?” But then again we are ‘north” of Hope, B.C. I guess it can and should be overlooked.
