Report on Seniors Health To Be Released Today
Prince George, B.C. – The report generated from the 2013 consultations across the north which focused on healthy aging and seniors’ health will be released by Northern Health today.
The series of meetings began September 24th in Kitimat, continued over a three-month period with stops in Terrace, Smithers, Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Prince George, Mackenzie, and Valemount and wrapped up in Quesnel on November 20th of last year. “Healthy aging and seniors’ wellness is a shared community concern and we want to ensure people have a voice in how we address it,” said Dr. Charles Jago, Northern Health Board Chair.
The sessions looked at all issues of aging and wellness, with the purpose of using the information gathered for future planning and decision-making. The conversations also gave Northern Health an opportunity to share information on healthy aging with residents across the north.
Dr. Jago and Northern Health CEO Cathy Ulrich will be on hand to take questions arising from this morning’s release of the report.
