Sarah McLachlan To Play PG In October
Prince George, B.C.- Multi-platinum Canadian singer-songwriter and Grammy Award-winner, Sarah McLachlan is coming to Prince George.
She is booked to play the CN Centre on October 25th as her coast to coast "SHINE ON" Canadian Tour swings across the country.
Released today, SHINE ON is McLachlan’s first full-length recording of new material in four years. The new album was recorded in Montreal and Vancouver with Sarah's longtime collaborator/producer Pierre Marchand as well as Bob Rock and Vincent Jones.
Sarah McLachlan is one of the most celebrated singer songwriters in entertainment with over 40 million albums sold worldwide. She is an eight-time Juno Award winner and a three-time Grammy Award winner. McLachlan's landmark fifth album, the 10x-platinum SURFACING, contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks: "Building a Mystery" and "Last Dance." In addition to her personal artistic efforts, she founded the Lilith Fair tour showcasing female musicians which raised over $7 million for local and national charities over its 3 years and in 2002 founded her non-profit organization the Sarah McLachlan School of Music. The school provides free afterschool music education for at-risk and underserved kids who otherwise would have no access to music programming.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, May 9 and can be purchased at SarahMcLachlan.com and livenation.com.

Will she be singing her two hits, over and over again?
There are a few shows coming up – Bachman Turner, Alice in Chains. It’s odd that this site cherry picks the acts it mentions.
I think it’s worthy to point out that in many of these shows she is playing venues MUCH smaller than CN Centre. In Ottawa for example, she is at the National Arts Centre. In Montreal she’s at the St. Denis theatre. In fact, for the vast majority of her shows she’s at places built for an acoustic performance. This is perfect example of what a PAC type venue would cater to ;)
Stop stirring the pot NMG… :)

9 songs broke the top 100. The defunct Guess Who had 17.
And Justin Bieber has had 33 songs that broke the top 100, LOL . . .

I know, I know, but I couldn’t help myself :)
All those acts playing in the CN centre is proof we don’t need a PAC!

And Platinum means what Leroy?
Oh By The Way……
“In July 1988, 736 weeks after it debuted on Billboardâs album chart, Pink Floydâs 1973 classic âThe Dark Side of the Moonâ finally left the weekly Top 200 listing. Twenty-five years after that chart record was set, it still hasnât been broken.”
“Longest Run on the Billboard 200
Pink Floyd’s acclaimed 1973 classic “Dark Side of the Moon” has spent an amazing 840 weeks riding the Billboard 200 album chart. That’s 16 (non-consecutive) years!”
Beat that!

For a friendly challenge, go watch her show in Vancouver at the Orpheum and then again at CN Centre in PG.
It would be like watching the Canucks in GM place vs. watching them play in the frozen tennis courts at CHSS.
And my apologies to Mrs. McLachlan. In no way did I mean to compare her to the Canucks, LOL ;)
Seen Cats, Phantom and Jesus Christ Superstar back in the day and yes the venues they were in were nice. Especially the Pantages in Toronto but in PG the CN Center will suffice.
