Valemount, B.C.- The Robson Valley Region has launched a special website to  help market the area.

With  video testimonials from local residents,  the website  (www.DiscoverRVR.ca ) invites people and investors, to  come to the region to “Live Large”, whether it be to pursue retirement living,  forestry operations,  tourism  opportunities or agricultural  options.

Through the program, McBride, Valemount and communities in between have come together to pursue economic opportunities.

“The economic marketing program for the Robson Valley Region is a great example of the power of working together. By joining with communities across the Robson Valley, our voices are louder and the opportunities to live, work and play here are great,” says Valemount Mayor Andru McCracken.

“The Robson Valley Region is a hidden gem, but we don’t want to keep it secret anymore. There are great opportunities here, so I’m excited to see a program that will market these opportunities and help stimulate economic growth for our area,” says Ken Starchuck, Electoral Area H Director with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George.

The development of the program stems from recommendations in the Canoe-Robson Valley’s Economic Opportunities Plan.  “A lot of research and hard work has gone into developing this program,” says McBride Mayor Mike Frazier. “Theprogram features actual residents of the Robson Valley Region and brings their stories to life to show the varied kinds of opportunities that are available here.”

The program is funded through the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George, Village of McBride and Village of Valemount. Grant funding has been received from Northern Development Initiatives Trust, Omineca Beetle Action Coalition and Tourism BC’s Community Tourism Opportunities program.

Glad to see this website online. As someone who works hands on with farming and agriculture in the north, I can tell you the Robson Valley provides some amazing opportunities for farmers.
