Weather Bodes Well For May Fair And Host Of Weekend Events

Although the forecast is calling for some morning fog, it will burn off and make way for sunshine and a high of 14-degrees today.
It is day two of Westcoast Amusement's May Fair in the CN Centre parking lot along Ospika Boulevard.
All moms heading down to the Prince George Farmer's Market will receive a free daffodil this morning…one day in advance of Mother's Day. The PGFMA is also launching 'Music at the Market' this weekend at its year-round location on 6th Avenue (the bright green building behind the Keg) with Jeremy Pahl set to perform between 11am and 12noon.
As part of a number of events scheduled during the local SPCA's fundraising challenge against Kamloops, the North Cariboo Shelter will host an open house between noon and 5pm today to give city residents a first-hand look at the local pet rescue efforts.
The Elder Citizen's Recreation Association is hosting its annual plant sale and strawberry tea at its Rec Centre at 1692 10th Avenue – the plant sale runs from 10am until 2pm, the tea is from 1:30pm until 3:30pm.
The 3rd Annual Autism Awareness Walk starts at 2pm this afternoon at Cottonwood Park and will wind its way to the bandshell in Fort George Park.
By the time the events wrap up, a cool north wind is set to pick up in the early evening. The forecast is calling for a chilly minus-1 overnight, before the sun and a high of 17 hits tomorrow.
