Little Prince Fired Up for Another Season
Prince George, B.C. – The Little Prince is back on track, and ready to roll this weekend.
Throughout the summer, the Little Prince will be doing the loop noon to 4 on weekends and holiday Mondays through to the Labour Day weekend in September. The encore trip will take place on the Thanksgiving weekend in October before the engine is winterized and put away until next year.
The 24” gauge steam engine is more than 100 years old, having celebrated its centennial in 2012. It is expected to play a key role in the City’s Centennial celebrations next year.
But for now, the Little Prince is prepping for another season at Exploration Place. New this year, will be sales of old fashioned ice cream at the Train station. Proceeds from ice cream sales will go towards supporting the train’s operations. Another fundraiser for the train, comes in the way of Little Prince t-shirt sales.

My grandparents used to operate this little train for years throughout the 90s. Robert and Phillyis Russell :-) Sadly they’ve since passed away but would be proud it’s back again for another year!
