Prince George, B.C. – The Victoria Day weekend marks the opening of a new season at the Huble Homestead, north of Prince George.

The historic site is 101 years old and starts out the beginning of its second century a little more worn than usual.  Harsh winter weather resulted in damage to some of the buildings and fencing repairs will be made as the season progresses.

There are plenty of activities and chores taking place this opening weekend, including tree pruning, sheep shearing and garden preparation.  And the highlighted activity of the day today is providing tips on how best to get your garden in order.

The Huble Homestead is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
