The names have been on this site for some time, thanks to the CBC links.
Deepest condolences to family and friends.
So sad to see this happen.
We understand how broken your hearts will be . There is no greater pain . It never goes away . Hang on to each other .
JohnnyBelt – I wondered that myself. While 250News was refusing to publicize the names, they had not one, but two links on the side bar to CBC news which had the names on their sites.
I admire the efforts of the staff at 250News towards ethics in reporting, but there seems to be a disconnect in this whole matter.
News media is a highly competitive business, and it may be time for a review of the methodologies currently being used at 250News in regards to issues like this one and another hot topic that was here a few days back – that of reporting suicides as such.
To the 250News staff – this is not a complaint nor a gripe at you, but a suggestion for your serious consideration.
Very sorry for the families and friends of these two. Hopefully others can take something from this that will help them in their lives. None of us ever know about when our lives will end.
