Fire In Hillcrest Sub, Near Mud River

Prince George- Fire crews from a number of halls are battling a blaze west of the city of Prince George, in the Hillcrest Subdivision, near Mud River, just off highway 16 West.
The fire broke out around 10pm. Tuesday and a red glow is visible in the sky over Hillcrest Drive .
It is not known as yet what the fire has destroyed, or any other extent of damage, or possible injuries.
Neighbors say they heard loud pops, as if fire crackers were being set off, more than an hour ago.

Ummm Hillcrest is a subdivision of what? Certainly not PG.
Way outside the city limits. Were there city firefighters there?
Isn’t their mandate only inside city limits?

It’s just maybe 15km west of PG city limits … yes there were firefigherts there … our tireless volunteer firefighters. If it were not for them, there would not be any fire coverage in the area.
