Funeral Service Held For Teen

Saturday, May 24, 2014 @ 1:22 PM

Orange balloons were released at the end of the funeral service for Kendall Moore

Prince George, BC – Mourners streamed out of the Civic Centre this afternoon, following the funeral service for 17-year-old Prince George teen Kendall Moore…

Family and friends, including dozens of teenagers, gathered over the noon-hour to remember, honour and celebrate the young woman who had been a student at DP Todd Secondary.  The service ended with a balloon release in the plaza outside.

Moore and 19-year-old Craig Wood were killed last weekend when the vehicle they were in went into Kwitzil Lake at an after-prom party.  A service for Wood will be held on Monday at the Westwood Mennonite Brethren Church on Ospika Boulevard at 11am.

Both the RCMP and BC Coroner's Service continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.  The RCMP had a discreet presence in the Civic Centre Plaza as today's service drew to a close.

so, they set up an account for each of these poor souls so that they can have us pay for a big fancy funeral?

Wow bcracer, that’s really cold! What kind of funeral do you suggest?

Contributions are absolutely voluntary and many in the general public want to help, it’s the good in people that motivates them to donate for a variety of reasons.

gawd your life must be miserable, BCracer.

Much too young to leave this world. RIP beautiful one..

bcracer, a family lost their daughter. Their child. Think about that. No amount of funeral or money will compensate.

R.I.P. young one. My deepest condolences to family and friends.

A son or daughter, when you lose them, is a trauma and horror I know. A piece of your soul gets ripped out and you can’t fill it, nothing does.
My best wishes go out to the parents and family of these kids gone so young in life,
you always carry them in your hearts and think of them always and for a very long time. Reflect on the fun times and the way they filled your lives. Nothing you have done or said brought them to this sad end, don’t blame yourselves or anyone else, it was just their time to go.
Best wishes.

bcracer you are a sad sad individual, waste of air.

Do you have no respect what so ever.

Ben this dud needs a time out.

Are you for real BCracer? What a waste of a human you are.

Considering the profound effect this tragidy had on Prince George, having a “fancy” funeral at the civic center is a good appropiate venue. Hope they get enough contributions to cover the costs. I recommend BCracer give the most contribution.

Sad, sad, sad. Condolences to everyone involved.

Bcracer, you’re a thoughtless, mean spirited person.

Bcracer! My name is amanda and I along with my mother in law rose are the one who set up the fundraiser for the families of these to ‘poor souls’ as you call them. You have no idea what its like to lose a child do you? Stop and think…a person spends their life paying into life insurace to cover the cost of a funeral. Most people dont even start untill in their late 20s or 30s. A parent never expects or ‘saves’ to bury their child. HAVE SOME COMPASION! and fyi. The families never asked for a penny or anyone’s help for that matter. We did this from the goodness of our heart. And the people that donate are not forced to do so. I thank everyone for their contributions to these 2 beautiful teens families. And bcracer I hope u have saved and planed for your ‘poor soul’ to afford a funeral.

Bracer …. funerals are expensive; when I buried my son in 2001 it was $10.000. That was 12 years ago …. and average funeral; nothing fancy; but not a cardboard box either. Since his death was the result of a car accident; I was lucky that ICBC paid for some of the funeral; not the headstone, however; which for a modest one, was $3,000. People are not expecting to lose a child; someone so young, so one doesn’t exactly have $10,000 – $15,000 sitting around in a back account to use if a tragedy like this happens. If you do; they you’re in a very small minority and you should help out; not bitch about it. Your ignorant remarks are not something the grieving families need to read right now ….. I hope 250 deletes you comments ….. scrooge. You are a self-serving, heartless, waste of a piece of skin ….. lets see how you feel if a tragedy happens to you.
