Prince George, B.C. – There is some good news on the status of the Fraser River.
While it has risen high enough to cover the park benches in Paddlewheel Park in Prince George, it has receded, and is expected to continue to do so.
Prince George Fire- Rescue Chief, John Iverson, says the river’s level is being monitored “hourly” but if conditions change and the water level poses a threat, emergency measures will be taken immediately.
The River Forecast Centre’s five day flow forecast for the Fraser River through Prince George is that it has peaked and will continue to recede to a level of about 8.1 meters by Friday.
That prediction stands, even though this region is expecting rain for the balance of the week.

So if one stands on the bridge to Fort George Park at the Slough and watches the water it is still flowing away from the river, so to me that says that it is still rising otherwise the water would begin to flow back out towards the river.
