IPG Gathering Info For New Business Retention Expansion Plan
Prince George, BC – Initiatives Prince George (IPG) is moving into the survey stage in the development of a new Business Retention and Expansion program.
IPG knows most economic growth in the community comes from the businesses already located in Prince George, the new program aims to help those businesses grow.
About 200 local businesses, from a variety of sectors, will be surveyed. The questions have been developed to assist IPG in understanding the needs, opportunities and challenges business face.
The interview process will start on Monday June 2nd, and wrap up by the end of August. An independent consultant will then draft a report based on the information gathered.
The final report and its recommendations will be released this fall, and IPG will start implementing the Business Retention and Expansion Program in early 2015.

Well that is a welcome change, seems that since Tim left they have been a one trick pony doing nothing more than acting as a taxpayer funded head hunting firm for area firms.
Helping businesses grow should fall right in the wheelhouse of an organization like IPG.
Wanna help business? Less red tape and lower taxes. The rest is just talk and meaningless crap. IMO.
IPG lacks leadership and strategic direction that could produce results. Its all about insider politics funded by the home owners of PG. A think tank lobby for corporate and political elites to set the political agenda.
IMO the work done by IPG should be done by a city committee with help from city employees. They could drill down to study specific issues relevant to issues on council.
I have a great idea for new business retention and expansion, just hire dirt cheap slave labour from the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, and your business is bound to succeed ;-)
Where can one see the questionnaire? Would be a good read.
They have lost their way and should be about helping bring new business to PG, its employer that have to worry about worker retention not IPG what a joke.
