Thursday, May 29, 2014 @ 3:55 AM

Prince George, B.C.- Northern Health’s Chief Medical information Officer,  is among the 25 people in B.C. who will be appointed to the Order of British Columbia this fall.

Dr. William Clifford is being recognized for his development of the Medical Office Information System.  It is a development he made in 1990, long before  electronic medical records became commonplace.

The software he developed is distributed by a non-profit organization and has 2,500 users throughout B.C.  It is ranked as the number-one medical record system in Canada.

The Order of British Columbia is the highest honour the Province can bestow on a resident.

"For 25 years, we have publicly recognized those who have dedicated themselves to bettering the lives of their fellow citizens” says Lieutenant Governor Guichon “These recipients exemplify the positive difference one person can make in a community and are an inspiration to all British Columbians."

The Order of British Columbia investiture ceremony will be held for recipients and invited guests at Government House in Victoria on Nov.6, 2014.

Thanks Dr. Clifford.

Retired 02: Looks like you didn’t read the story properly. He made this in 1990.
I think its a wonderful tool for doctors and he is finally getting recognised for it.

Retired 02 doesn’t comprehend very well. He sticks his negative nose in PG news regularly. We’ve suggested he concentrate on Abby news but he doesn’t comprehend that either.

Anyone who speaks ill of Dr. Clifford has never met the guy.
