Dead Bear Hunter Identified as Washington State Man

Houston, B.C. – The RCMP in Houston have now released the name of an American man who was shot and killed while bear hunting south of that community last Monday. However, they are still not releasing information on what exactly occurred.
On the afternoon of May 26th, the Houston RCMP were advised of a shooting incident in the Tahtsa Reach Forest Service area, which is 112 kilometers south of Houston. Police went to the area and located a deceased 59 year old American citizen who had been shot while hunting with guides.
The Houston RCMP in partnership with the BC Coroner's Office have identified the man as Jeffrey Cooper of Toutle, Washington. The RCMP and Coroner’s Service are investigating the death.
