Wednesday, June 4, 2014 @ 6:37 PM

Prince George, B.C.-  It was Constable Kanwalprit Sidhu who  officially arrested Cody Legebokoff for the murder of Loren Donn Toews in late November  of 2010.

The arrest was made after Conservation Officer Cam Hill  advised  the discovery  on a deserted logging road off highway 27   was “worst case scenario.”  He had found a body in the snow.

In court today,  the jury of 10 men and four women, heard a recording of  Constable Sidhu reading  the charter and  warning to  Cody Legebokoff.

Cst. Sidhu:       I have told you already that I arrested you for the murder of…

Legebokoff:      I did not murder anyone

Cst. Sidhu        Listen to me OK?  I am arresting you for the murder of Loren Donn Toews T-O-E-W-S,  It is my duty to inform you, you have the right to retain or seek Counsel in private without delay, you may call any lawyer you want…

Legebokoff:       I want to call my dad.

Cst. Sidhu then advised that  Legebokoff  could contact a 24 hour service where a legal aid lawyer would be available.

When asked if he understood,  Legebokoff replied “yep” then asks again to call his father “’cause I didn’t do this. …Seen it?  Yes.  I want to leave”.

Constable Sidhu again asks if Legebokoff would like to call a lawyer, and Legebokoff answers “I want to call my dad”.  It  is a request he would repeat several more times.

“Is your dad a lawyer?” asks Cst. Sidhu.  Legebokoff  continues on with “Because I didn’t do this”…..

Cst. Sidhu again asks if  he wants to call a lawyer and Legebokoff says “I don’t even know why I’m ‘F—— in here”

Cst. Sidhu :  I told you,  you are under arrest for murder,

Legebokoff:  I did not murder anybody.

Cst Sidhu:  Well I am investigating a murder,  I have reasons to believe,

Legebokoff :  Well I did not murder anybody.  Found.   Found it…. o.k.?

The recording  was  among the evidence entered today in  this murder trial.   Also entered as exhibits were a pair of skater type  runners,  photos  taken  of Legebokoff at the  side of  the road on the night of the arrest,  photos of  his truck as it was searched  in the secured  bay at the Vanderhoof detachment,  a bloody pipe wrench, and a leatherman style multi tool that still had  some residue of blood.

Legebokoff is accused of murdering Loren Donn Leslie (Toews), Jill Stuchenko, Cynthia Maas and Natasha Lynn Montgomery.
