City Honours RCMP Members Killed in Moncton

Thursday, June 5, 2014 @ 8:31 AM

Flags at the RCMP detachment and at City Hall are at half mast –

Prince George, B.C.- The flags at Prince George City Hall and at the RCMP detachment on Victoria Street are flying at half mast, to pay tribute to the three RCMP members who have been shot and killed in Moncton New Brunswick.  Two other officers are in hospital.

“On behalf of everyone in Prince George, I extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the fallen, and to their colleagues in the RCMP" says Mayor Shari Green.  She also passed along the City's  wishes for the wounded to have a "speedy and full recovery."

The search for the gunman continues.  The suspect,  Justin Bourque had been spotted walking towards a wooded area, heavily armed.

RCMP  have asked  people  in the Moncton area not to use social media to share the latest  in RCMP efforts to capture the gunman as police are concerned he may be monitoring social media.

This morning, RCMP in Moncton have asked people in the  search area to  remain in their homes,  and to lock their doors.   Schools in that  area  have also been closed  as  police continue their manhunt.

I hope social media will inform the police of the gunman’s position if spotted though. They could really help get this guy taken down.

Call in Special Forces and get a chopper in the air with infra red.

Sad day for all the Law Enforcement Officers that risk much on a daily basis in this country! Hope they catch this psycho soon!

Sad to think that this sick individual is only eligble for life in prison if captured alive.

No flags at half staff for Ian Bush, Robert Juhkanski (sic) and the ex-soldier in Pineview? Charter of Rights says every one is equal. It is interesting how everything evens out. They had a kid shrink on the news talking about traumatized kids and how to deal with them. She didn’t mention to just send them to their rooms to play the latest Call of Duty video game. Keep in mind the word alleged. He hasn’t had a trial yet.

Harbinger you aren’t even close. go give it a rest buddy.

Harbinger, sometimes it is better not to say anything at all.

Harbinger – really, really inappropriate and tasteless comments.

OK

I watch too much LiveLeak.com, I guess.

HomeInPG…. I just visited the CBC.ca news website and a young man just died in police custody in the lower mainland after being tazered. Keep those flags low.

This will have an effect on gun owner for sure. The gun registry is in that same city. I wonder if the suspect even had a gun license? I also wonder if the registry has been of any use in this case?

Also my condolences to all involved and especially the next of kin.It would be a tough day being an officer in Moncton today.

Registered or not people like this will do stupid things so forget the whole registered thing.

HARBINGER – 3 police officers were killed trying to proptect the public! You have tio NERVE to downgrade their deaths because someone died in police custody? YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHY THAT PERSON DIED YET. YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THAT PERSON, yet you have the nerve to infer that persons life is more important than 3 police officers.

People like you disgust me.

Harbinger, as you can see your posts arent going over to well.

THere are apporx 870 deaths a day in Canada, so then following your idea the flags would always be at half mast.

People that decide to risk their lives for others ( Police and Fire) deserve our respect. So when they lose their life in the line of duty that is how we show them respect and compassion. Do not belittle them by your ignorance.

A person doing their job don’t have to die to do their job!

A person in police custody, does not have to die either.

So, both HomeinPG and Harbinger has the right to post their comments and if they are that adamant about their position, respect it.

I am not “downgrading” any ones death. Cops and robbers included. My opinion isn’t going over well? So be it. I call ’em as I see them. The risks of being a policeman are spelled out when they are hired. Policemen IMO aren’t held to the same account as are civilians when it comes to mortal happenings. Kinda one sided justice to me. Back of the head, ergo, self defense? If you say so. Thanks He spoke. Kinda hard for me after looking at the world, as it stands, to be Pollyanna about any incident. Be it Ukraine, the middle east and most of all parts of Africa. Maybe I better just stick to reading our Citizen newspaper and let the universe unfold as it should.

Crackpot comments on a website geared toward crackpots? I’m shocked!

———————————-

What effect will this have on gun owners? None, other than idiots trying to blame guns rather than the real problem, humans!

The registry is not in Moncton.

What is having a licence or not going to do in this or any other case?

The registry no longer exists!

Lack of knowledge hurts everyone!

Shame on you Harbinger for sharing your opinion!

If I rocked the boat, I am not sorry.

HeSpoke: “A person doing their job don’t have to die to do their job!

Ah, the dream of living in a perfect world.

Dragonmaster,

If you think the registry no longer exists you are wrong. All it takes to prove my point is a listen to the police scanner.

Somehow someway dispatch is able to let the police know weather or not “fox alpha’s” or fire arms are present on a call.

So someone tell me, how would dispatch know this unless they were all psychic, must be a database or a registry to consult would be my guess.

Harbringer, your a twisted little low self esteem scumbag….does that spell it out clearly for you, the real issue is that everytime someone posts on what a TOTAL Moron you are for such idiotic and tastless comments, it no doubt feeds your tiny little ego that “people are commenting on MY posts!”….Do us all a favor, crawl back under your rock and start to post again once you have an IQ over 9!….Oh and take that equally attention grabing twit Johnnybelt with you, read a book, learn about something outside your bubble and then make a comment about Police Officers being killed protecting there community from sick individuals that are running around with assault rifles targeting Police, MORONS!

Wow!

They caught him.
