Smithers, B.C. – Highway 16 West is closed 12 kilometres west of Moricetown (36 kms west of Smithers) because of a serious crash.

It is believed there have been multiple fatalities.

There is no detour available.  According to DriveBC, the estimated time of opening is 5am Sunday morning, although an update is expected at midnight.
