Prince George, BC – For the second time today, a mud slide has closed Highway 16 East, in Tete Jaune Cache…

Mud and debris closed the route for a couple of hours earlier this afternoon.  Highway crews were able to re-open the highway to single lane, alternating traffic at approximately 6:30pm, but DriveBC advises another slide closed the route at 11:25pm.

The closure is two-kilometres east of the junction with Highway 5.  There is no detour available for motorists hoping to travel between Prince George and Jasper.  The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says there is no estimated time of opening.  Crews will begin an assessment in the morning.
