Highway 16 West Remains Closed

Smithers, BC – Highway 16 West will remain closed through the night, following a vehicle incident, west of Smithers.
The route was closed 12-kilometres west of Moricetown by a crash that occurred Saturday evening.
250News has been working to obtain details on what's believed to be a serious crash involving fatalities. According to the DriveBC website, there is no detour available, but the route is estimated to re-open at 5am.
An earlier tweet from Drive BC said the closure was due to a vehicle fire.

Understand it was a truck head on. Three retired siblings in one vehicle gone and so is the driver of other vehicle. Condolences to the families
