Council Starts With Silence for Slain RCMP Members

Prince George, B.C. – The regular meeting of Council for the City of Prince George got underway with a request that all rise and share   a minute of silence as a sign of respect for the three RCMP members who died in Moncton last week.

With bowed heads, those in the gallery, city Staff and members of Council stood in silence for a full minute.

Tomorrow, the regimental funerals will be held for the three. Some members of the Prince George RCMP detachment are in Moncton to   attend the funeral.   Mayor Shari Green asked that   if possible, people wear red tomorrow, as a show of support for the families of the slain officers and the RCMP
