Prince George, B.C. – If you have to be in the area of the Ramada Hotel on George street in Prince George this hour, "Bee" advised, "There are thousands of bees in front of the Ramada Hotel" says Corporal Craig Douglass, media liaison officer for the Prince George RCMP.
"We are advising people to be very careful and to stay in their cars."
He says no one knows why the bees are there, or what the attractant might "bee".
Bee keeper George Bomford says the bees likely left the hive because of an overcrowding condition. "They would have been in a swarm, sending out scouts to look for a new place to make their hive." Bomford says the bees swarmed in an elm tree on George Street, some pooled on the road way. Then, as vehicles drove over the pool, the rest of the bees became confused. "They really don't know what to do now" says Bomford, who arrived on scene with a hive frame a frame the bees were buzzing around, some choosing to land. "This is the only thing that is familiar or comfortable for them right now" says Bomford as he watched the bees buzz around the frame.
All kidding aside, this could be a very serious issue for anyone who has an allergy to bee stings.
No word on when the area will be cleared.

Looks like Honey Bee’s. Maybe someone lost a hive or two.
So, Bee Aware, Bee Vigilant!
I hope they aren’t just killed! they are in short supply! Are they sure they are bees, and not wasps?
I think a beekeeper would know the difference. They look just like domestic honey bees. They are a rare commodity up here in the north.
