Mistrial Declared in Theft Case
Prince George, B.C. – The trial of a Prince George man, facing several counts of possession of stolen property and trafficking property obtained by crime, has ended in a mistrial.
The trial of Jeremy Kostyshyn was to start today and was scheduled to continue through to Friday.
This afternoon, the provincial court Judge hearing the case, Dan Weatherley, declared a mistrial when he learned one of the witnesses in the case is a personal friend.
Kostyshyn is accused of being involved in thefts of stolen property in excess of $200 thousand dollars.
During the investigation , police had recovered two jet boats, a skid steer tractor and a mini excavator.
The trial will be rescheduled, but the date has not yet been confirmed.
