Quesnel, B.C.- A 27 year old man is in police custody in Quesnel following a robbery.

RCMP say  they received a report of an assault in progress in the 100 block of Marsh Drive around 6 last evening.

When they arrived on scene,  they  learned an 18 year old male had been approached by a man  who was carrying a stick.  The suspect then hit the teen with the stick before stealing a package of tobacco from the youth.

The victim was not seriously injured.

A 27 year old Quesnel man is to appear in court in Quesnel later today.
