Prince George, B.C.- By the end of the day today, the rubble that used to be a couple of shops on George Street, will be gone.
A clean up crew has been working at the site since early Friday. The job of removing the debris was expected to take no longer than two days.
The debris has been piled up since a fire raged through the two stores on the night of May 4th.
The RCMP have been investigating the fire, but to this date, have not indicated what caused the blaze.

One of the main streets in downtown PG and yet the buildings don’t even have concrete foundations? Just like a wild west movie set built out of wood that part of town….
The foundation is more of the age of the buildings in that area than being on a main street.
On a Saturday? Good thing its contracted out and not our city “brothers” ;)
I was worried it would still be existing during our 2015 games. I’m happy now. In a pinch they could have just thrown a rug over it like the Three Stooges.
I’m just waiting for the Copper Pig to re-open. Gift cards to spend!!
Its about time parking on that end of town has been a nightmare. I am sure store owners suffered.
Hope they rebuild.
