Smithers, BC – RCMP in Smithers continue to investigate after three seperate break-ins this past week…

The first occurred early last Saturday morning when police responded to an alarm at the Telkwa One Stop, a grocery store and laundromat in Telkwa.  It appears thieves broke in through a back door and made off with cigarettes.

Early Monday morning, thieves broke into the Moricetown Multiplex, breaking a window in the school portion of the centre.  A laptop was stolen from the school and a small quantity of cash was taken from the Multiplex office.  RCMP Forensic Services were called in to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.

The third break-in occurred at a construction site on Walnut Drive in Smithers, where a laptop and digital camera were stolen.  Once again, Forensic Services were called in to assist.

Smithers RCMP are asking for information from the public that may assist in these investigations.  You can contact the Detachment at 250-847-3233 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

I wonder who just moved into town?

Someone from PG scared of the RCMP crack down.

Be on the look out for smokers uploading digital camera pics on their stolen laptops. How easy is that, eh?
