This Week’s Paving Projects

Monday, June 23, 2014 @ 3:52 AM

Prince George, BC – Residents travelling routes on the City's west side may want to take note of this week's road rehab projects…

A portion of Foothills Boulevard and two sections of Otway Road are slated for re-paving this week, as part of this summer's record $9.8-million dollar road repair budget.  Further east, North Nechako Road between Highway 97 and the Cameron Street Bridge roundabout is also slated to be re-done by the end of the week, weather permitting.

The Foothills Boulevard project has a price tag of $425-thousand dollars and starts at Austin Road, stretching north towards work done last year.  In total, the work along Otway Road has an estimated cost of $620-thousand dollars.  One project runs through the Heritage neighbourhood, from Tabor Boulevard to Foothills, the second is from the CN Rail Tracks to the Otway Ski Area.

Motorists are being advised to plan alternate routes when possible and to drive with care around the road crews.

yes, get the roads to the Winter Games Venues nice and smooth.

Foothills and Otway???? What happened to Hywy 16 west???? They scraped the top layer then moved on to another part of town??

Highway 16 West is under the jurisdiction of the Province, not the City.

bcracer – other than the last little item on that list, the CN tracks to Otway Ski, what does any of these projects have to do with Winter Games Venues?

Highway 16 West is smoother now than it was at the start of spring even without the new blacktop

slinky…ditto

Some of the best paving I’ve seen done in this city for the past few years!
