Area ‘F’ Residents Say ‘Yes’ To Rec Tax
Prince George, BC – Rural residents living in the East Line Communities of Willow River, Giscome, and Upper Fraser have voted in favour of a bylaw that would help fund an activity centre at the new Giscome Elementary School…
While there will be an official determination of the weekend referendum results today, the unofficial results from Saturday's vote are 81 to 26 in favour of establishing a community facilities service area that would allow the Regional District of Fraser Fort George to collect taxes to cover the anticipated $15-thousand dollar annual operating cost of the activity centre.
According to a feasibility study carried out at the request of the Willow River Community Association, the anticipated impact on residents living in the regional district's Electoral Area 'F' would be approximately $24.94 per year for property owners with a single-family home valued at $80-thousand dollars.

At $24.94 per year per property owner the $15000 a year cost tells me there are 601 property owners that will be taxed for this yet only 107 of them came out to vote?
yep, for those 494 tax payers that did not vote, don’t want to hear any whinning.
Yeah! Eastline!! Way to go! Great job improving your area!! As to the number of residents, you are forgetting that that is an average, and some properties are worth more than that $80,000 and many people own several deeded titles, so there is closer 200 property owners. Either way, Great Job
May attract more residents to move to the area.
