Prince George, BC – There were some fast times for the young participants completing a 5K race, as the wrap up to the local Girls Fun Run program (click here, for previous story)…

In total, 24 girls came out to run in the finale of an eight-week program hosted by the RCMP's Community Policing and Victim Services Units.

The first to complete the route around Fort George Park was 11-year-old Natalie Hirt, with a time of 27-minutes, 53-seconds.  Second place went to 11-year-old Brook Svendsen, who ran the course in 28:09, and 9-year-old Ella Gagnon finished in third place in 30:28.

After the race, the girls and their families enjoyed a picnic in the park and medal presentations with RCMP Superintendent Eric Stubbs and Constable Elizabeth Karl.
