City Park Openings and Closures Of Note

Saturday, June 28, 2014 @ 4:46 AM

Prince George, B.C. – There is an advisory to the public that Cottonwood Island Park and the Heritage River Trails are now open for public use, after being closed for more than a month due to high water levels.

“The City of Prince George would like to remind the public to be cautious when walking in these areas as parts of the trail may have standing water,” says Associate Director of Operations Gina Layte-Liston.

As well, residents are advised that Connaught Hill Park will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for Canada Day on Tuesday, July 1st.  The park will re-open on Wednesday.

Yes, be cautious of those puddles!

The city should spray it for Mosquitos. That park is horrendous this time of year after the water levels fall.

I understand that a severe “puddle warning” has been issued for Cottonwood Park.

I was in there a few days ago before the announcement of opening and it was open lol and everything was fine, not many caterpillars but yes, a crap ton of skeeters so bring the bug spray if you plan to walk. And best of all, it doesn’t stink!

Why is Connaught Hill Park closed on July 1st?

It’s closed as they set off the fireworks from Connaught hill
