Wednesday, July 2, 2014 @ 5:07 PM

Prince George, B.C.- The first of 15 "Official Venue" signs for the Canada Winters Games,  was unveiled today.

The  post  is at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club,  the  official venue for  curling events for the 2015 Games.

Similar posts will be placed  at  Purden Ski Hill, Tabor Mountain, Otway, Duchess Park Secondary School, CN Centre, Lakewood Dental Arena (Kin Centre) ,  Kin II, Elksentre, Coliseum, Civic Plaza, College of New Caledonia, Northern Sport Centre, Aquatic Centre, the Ice Oval.

Each sign  features the  sport to be  played at the site.

This program is the result of a community partnership between Timberspan Wood Products, who donated the Douglas Fir posts, Trimline Signs & Graphics, who produced and constructed the markers and the City of Prince George, which assisted in securing grant funding from the Canada-British Columbia Official Languages Agreement on French-Language Services.

All 15 Venue Markers will be installed by the end of August 2014.

Comments

Hope they got backups, because I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them mysteriously go missing.

Sine what are you planning on doing with them? Firewood?

That’s true. They will probably be vandalised before the games. Too early to put them out.

Question: What does a 1.5 meter post look like under 2 meters of solid state H2O?

Loki, I will bet you the snow removal this winter will be the best it’s been in many decades. We have to put up the facade for all the winter games people.
