Hailstones that hit Prince George this afternoon.
Prince George, B.C. – The severe thunderstorm warning in Prince George has been downgraded to a “watch”, but the warning is now in place for the Peace River region.
When the storm passed through Prince George between 3 and 4 this afternoon it dumped some serious hail. As the photo above illustrates, some of those hail stones were 1/2 an inch in diameter.
More than 200 BC Hydro customers in the northern reaches of the City are without power because a wire is down . It is estimated power will be restored to the Christopher Road area residents by about 6 tonight.
There are also power outages in Babine Reserve, Vanderhoof, Stuart Lake and Dawson Creek.
