Zimmer Says Bomb Shelter Experience-Interesting

Wednesday, July 9, 2014 @ 10:39 AM

Prince George, B.C.-  Prince George-Peace River MP Bob Zimmer and the rest of the members of the Canadian delegation in Jerusalem, met with  Canada’s representative to the Palestinian Authority this morning  for a briefing on the  situation which saw the Canadians scramble to safety  when air raid sirens sounded Tuesday warning of a possible rocket attack.

Zimmer was touring the Museum of David in Jerusalem at the time, he and the other members of the delegation were taken by security to the bomb shelter at the museum. “It was an interesting experience and showed us what the people of Jerusalem have to go through to be safe in their own city” said Zimmer.

The MPs were safe in the shelter for 10 to 15 minutes before they were given clearance to leave the shelter. Zimmer said he and the other members of the delegation did not feel they were in any immediate danger, “We walked back to our hotel after taking shelter. We feel very safe and secure, but there is a heightened sense of concern in the community”.

Zimmer is hopeful the situation will  de-escalate soon, “Jerusalem is where many religions, cultures and peoples intersect. It is a historic and Holy city that is forced to bear the stress of conflict. I look forward to the day the people of this great city can live in peace, without fear from attack”.

Call me cynical, but just what were you guys doing there anyway? If Obama can’t get peace in the Middle East with a fleet of aircraft carriers, what can a few MPs from Canada do?

Now, this might be a hard concept, but I assume you all flew over there business class at least, on taxpayer’s dime, and I’m guessing about $10,000 a pop. So, that’s about how much income tax someone making $50,000 a year has to pay. So, some poor schmuck worked all year so you could go to Israel – to do what? Fact finding – there’s a whole internet full of facts, and you’ve got an ambassador over there who can fill you in.

Maybe politicians will start getting respect when they start respecting taxpayer’s money. Please tell me, for what you guys spent, how is the Canadian taxpayer better off? Just what value did we get for our money? Someone worked a whole year for that trip – do you even get why that could tick someone off?

they haven’t found out about Skype or teleconferencing yet I guess….

Even if someone would pay for it, I would never set foot in this idiotic Place!
Don’t worry it’s only Taxpayers Money.

Peace in Israel… not likely. Those people, and I mean all of the Middle East including all of the feuding extremists can be defined as the worlds foremost self-righteous cowards. Israeli zionist, Palestinian, Iraqi, Egyptian, Afghani, Pakistani… you name it and they are driven by a self righteous bruised dignity that is pent up for revenge in the most cowardly ways possible.

If we can not impose respect for the dignity of man, and the adherence to a rule of law that is ethnically blind and inclusive of rights as citizens for everyone… then they will never know peace in Jerusalem. We would be fools to believe otherwise and we would be even bigger fools to believe Israel would willingly volunteer rights of citizenship to Palestinians in our life time unless responsible governments elsewhere put pressure on the zionist leadership to respect human dignity.

ski50 I don’t think the tax payers pay for it, but rather it is paid for by donations from rich zionist banksters that use these trips of indoctrination to ensure they have paid for friends in foreign governments the world over.

IMO it is an attack on the democratic process when we allow a foreign country to influence our politicians in this way with free trips like this.

Yes they are all from the same Race “Semites” and bent on killing each other to the last Man!I don’t think anyone can help, best to stay out.

Eagleone = anti semitic bastard

No Eagleone is a realist that doesn’t give a pass to racists, apartheid, and blow hards that would sacrifice our freedoms and rights to appease the war agenda of another nation. If that constitutes a new meaning for anti semites than so be it… it just means that the term really has no meaning of value anymore other than as a form of guilt tactic to provide cover for war crimes.

Hard candy if you want to call me names than please at least try to explain what it is that you feel constitutes your hate. Is it simply your support for the indiscriminate murder that takes place in Gaza that has you all upset? Should we just not talk about evil things that happen because a certain people get a pass on accountability when it comes to human rights abuses… is that your agenda? I really would like to know what constitutes the hate?
