Red Deer Creek Fire Growing

Prince George, B.C.- The Red Deer Creek fire, burning about 61 kms southeast of Tumbler Ridge, is now estimated to be 2,000 hectares in size.
200 people have been evacuated from work camps in the area, and this lightning sparked fires is now classed as an interface fire as there is an oil and gas value to the northeast of the fire however it is not immediately threatened at this time.
There are 70 firefighters, 5 helicopters and 4 airtankers working this fire .
High winds today are expected to spread the flames even further.
