Smoke Advisory For Prince George Area Lifted
Friday, July 11, 2014 @ 6:59 PM
Prince George, B.C. – The Ministry of Environment has ended a Smoke Advisory for Prince George and surrounding areas which was issued this morning due to forest fire smoke that was affecting the area.
Smoke levels have been dropping up in the Prince George area this afternoon. The hourly average levels are now well below the level at which an advisory would be continued. However during forest fires smoke concentrations may vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change. Smoke levels in the area will be monitored over the weekend and another advisory issued if needed.

I just visited the Prince George Transit website and discovered that the Free Fare for Clan Air policy providing free transit on Saturday has been cancelled due to the smoke advisory being lifted.
It is interesting to see that the rolling 24 hour average for PM2.5 particulate…. the tiny particles said to be worst for the health of breathing humans is posted on the ministry of environment air quality site as being 35 + at 7pm…. well exceeding the Ministry objective of 25 for the health of breathing humans.
Why does particulate matter exceeding the Ministry objectives result in the cancellation of an Air Quality Advisory?
Does it mean that particulate matter in excess of Ministry objectives is no longer bad air for breathing humans in Prince George?
Go figger!
How dare you ask these questions Norm1?
Hey there Norm1: What is your solution? You live here and we shall experience the effects of forest fires – yes, smoke!
Would you be looking for some cash handout so you can catch a plane to fantasy land where there is no smoke and no fire?
You go figger.
Oh no, we shall outlaw forest fires – interesting!
could you find any info on the fire out on buckhorn lake road please. Just past the lake. Equipment, bombers and water trucks were headed out at 7-8pm or so tonight.
