Medals for Local Special Olympians

Prince George, B.C.  – Eight Special Olympians are bringing home some hardware from the Special Olympic Summer National Games, held in Vancouver this past week.

Special Olympic athlete David Dunn found gold in the pool as he won the 100 Metrewe Breaststroke. David also won 2 silver medals in the 200 meter Individual Medley and the 100 meter freestyle.

Jasmyne Morgan was also successful in the pool winning 2 bronze medals in the 100 meter Freestyle and the 50 meter Butterfly.

Josh Pudney was the third Special Olympic swimmer. He won a gold in the 25 meter freestyle and a bronze in the 100 meter freestyle.

At the 10 pin bowling alley Linda Renner, bowled her way to the podium winning a silver medal in Singles and a gold medal in all around.

Other bowlers Jordan Korum and Emilie Synder were in the 5 pin competition and came in 7th place.

Rhythmic Gymnastics  athletes Darcy Muzychka and Michaela Samsonoff's hard efforts paid off as they both came home with medals. Darcy won a bronze in Level 4 clubs routine and Michaela won a silver in level 3 ball and a bronze in level 3 rope.

The Summer National Games were  the largest games ever held in Special Olympics Canada's history.
