Hudson's Hope, B.C.- An Evacuation Order has been issued by the District of Hudson's Hope as a result of the Mount McAllister Wildfire. The order covers the entire District of Hudson's Hope.

Residents under an Evacuation Order must immediately leave the area and proceed to a Emergency Social Services (ESS) Reception Centre to register. An ESS Centre has been set up at the North Peace Arena located at 9805, 96th Avenue, Fort St. John. If you have relocated elsewhere please call 1-250-794-5178 to register your whereabouts.

Hudson's Hope  Deputy Clerk Laurel Grimm says  police and emergency officials are currently going to each dwelling and business in the evacuation zone to deliver this evacuation order. They will provide details about safe routes to the nearest reception centre.

Grimm says there are about 1100 people  impacted by this evacuation order.

The evacuation order has been issued to ensure the protection of human life while firefighters, police and emergency officials work to control the nearby wildfire.

Evacuation of a town. Watch out for the police. They break down doors and take firearms out of homes.

I was going to say flood the river while they are all out of town as a joke but I see I was beaten to the punch while trying to word my post in a funny but semi serious way to throw people off by the son of Jack…

I say it’s a good thing the regional district of Hudson Hope, and all 1,100 people, are being evacuated. Large forest fires are unpredictable, and there is nothing us puny humans can do to actually stop a raging forest fire. Anyone remember the 2011 Slave Lake, Alberta fire?

Yup, you have to have a healthy respect for the destructive power of a forest fire!

Sorry, I don’t know why there is a huge space in between my posted links.
