Prince George, B.C. -Well it must have been a real page turner!
This after a long-overdue book was finally returned to the Nechako branch of the Prince George Public Library recently.
Communications Coordinator Andrea Palmer says a gentleman who can't be named at this time returned the book entitled "Camping and Woodcraft: A Handbook for vacation campers and for travelers in the wilderness" with instructions that it would need to be sent back to its original home branch in Courtenay.
She says the book, which was carefully unwrapped days later, contained not only a note from the borrower but $100 in cash with instructions to forward the money to Courtenay to cover late fees.
Palmer says it's impossible to say exactly when the book was taken out but notes it would have been at least 30 years ago due to the age of the due date envelope.
The book itself was published in 1965 and for the record she says any book returned late would face a maximum fine of $5 after which the borrower would be required to cover the cost of the book.
In the meantime Palmer says the library has sent the book and the donation back to Courtenay.

Book ’em Danno.
I did hear that the Nechako Branch of the Prince George Public Library is looking for the return of a couple of it’s books;
One is titled; “Rusty Bed Springs” by I.P. Knightly.
The other one is titled; “Holely Mattress” by Mr. Completely.
So if anyone here has these books, please return them ;-)
