Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP is continuing to investigate a suspicious incident which took place at Bear Lake last week.

Corporal Craig Douglass says just before 9 pm August 4th, Mounties received a report of a man approaching and speaking to children at the "day use" area of Crooked River Provincial Park.

He says at 5 pm the man kept approaching kids to speak to them adding he ignored a request to stop from a concerned parent.

Douglass says police were unable to locate the suspect but provides the following description:

  • Adult male, possibly Asian Descent
  • Approximately 25 to 35 years old
  • Muscular with an athletic build
  • 5'6" to 5'8"
  • Approximately 220 pounds
  • Wearing red "board" shorts with a white waist band and sunglasses
  • Was not wearing a shirt
  • Short dark hair, but no body hair

Douglass says though the man did not appear to commit an offense, they would like to speak to him about his "aggressive and inappropriate" behaviour and asks anyone with any information to call Constable Renee Brand at 250-561-3300.
