oneofakind, in case you didn’t know or weren’t aware, people lose their life to a variety of causes.
Some lose their life due to heart disease, others due to strokes, yet others to cancer. Some are blessed to lose their life to old age!
In Robin Williams situation, he did not lose his life due to heart disease, a stroke or cancer. He lost his life due to a disease called DEPRESSION!! Have you heard about this disease? I’m be surprised if you haven’t because many people suffer from this disease.
Robin Williams didn’t take his life, Depression took it, just as heart disease, strokes, cancer and numerous other illnesses can take a life!
But if you still want to go with your comment about having “No Respect for People that Take there Own Life”, feel free to do so. Just don’t be surprised if some of us don’t have any respect for you!!
By the way, in your comment you used the word “there” when I think perhaps you should have used the word “their”! I’ll bet you that Robin Williams would have know the correct word to use!!

He was a great comedian and actor and he will be missed. I feel for him and his family, UNLIKE ONEOFAKIND, because of the depression he suffered from and now the news sources are revealing that he also had Parkinson’s Disease. Depression is a disease and not something to be ashamed of. We are all made up of chemicals and sometimes those chemicals get out of wack and it can’t be helped.
I sure wish he had been able to beat the depression because he would have made a great spokesperson for Parkinson’s Disease.
RIP funny man and know that more of us feel for you and your depression than those that are cold hearted.

and btw OneOfAKind… he was also suffering from early stages of Parkinson’s Disease. On somebody already battling depression and anxiety, that would be a mountain too high to climb.

Taken from the Huffington Post: “Until you’ve stared down that level of depression, until you’ve lost your soul to a sea of emptiness and darkness… you don’t get to make those judgments. You might not understand it, and you are certainly entitled to your own feelings, but making those judgments and spreading that kind of negativity won’t help the next person. In fact, it will only hurt others.”
Please read this oneofakind; it might help you understand.

“No Respect for People that Take there Own Life !”
Said by someone who likley has not lost a loved one to suicide. The decision they made is not very respecable and seems selfish however it does not change that fact that you need to treat everyone involved with respect, compassion and dignity even though you might feel like your world is being ripped apart at the same time.
Having been down this road before.. Trying to understand “why” is a loosing battle but once you start to “accept” what happend without bias you will be well on the road to the healing process.
I wish everone good health and happines and keep the good memories alive.

Being a seasoned senior, I have known of many people who ended their own lives ,for whatever reason. Never did they lose my respect for. I felt bad and miss many , but it was their choice, and that deserves my respect .Agree or not, that also is their choice.

I have battled depression myself, and have finally found a medication that helps at this time. Oneofakind, you’re way of thinking is what drives this disease underground and makes it extremely hard for those of us who do have it actually admit that we need help. There is still such a stigma attached to any mental illness, I have only shared my depression with few close friends and family. I have family members and friends who openly dismiss and criticize depression. They think it is all in a person’s head, like I can just think happy thoughts and I’ll be better. Unfortunately it just doesn’t work that way, it’s a chemical imbalance in the brain. Luckily I have a support system when I have my bad days, and those really bad days where I don’t get out of bed I have people who will come drag me out.
Robin Williams, you will be missed. If anything, your death will bring some much needed attention and hopefully understanding to a disease that too many sweep under the rug.
