Saturday, August 16, 2014 @ 7:04 AM

Prince George, B.C. – Good news for travelers and industry as Highway 16 has reopened in Northwest B.C.

It had been closed from four kilometres east of Topley to 18 kilometres west of Burns Lake (Decker sawmill) due to fire activity in the region.

DriveBC does warn however that the highway could close again on short notice if the forest fire flares up again.

That stretch of highway had been closed since Friday morning.
