Houston, B.C. – The China Nose fire has prompted the Ministry of Environment to issue a wildfire smoke advisory for Burns Lake, Houston and the surrounding areas.

The ministry says smoke concentrations will vary depending on winds and the behaviour change that has on wildfires.

Residents in the area are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities and it's recommended anyone experiencing the symptoms of difficulty with breathing, chest pain or coughing, to contact a health care provider.
