International Forestry Students pose in Mackenzie – photo submitted

Mackenzie, B.C.- Students from 32 countries were in Mackenzie on the weekend as part of the 42nd International Forestry Students’ Symposium.

The students got a first -hand look  at the devastation from the mountain pine beetle epidemic, and  B.C’s determination to make lemonade when handed  lemons.  In this case, it was finding new ways to flourish with the development of new industries, such  as bioenergy production.

Students issued a note of thanks to the folks at Conifex for  arranging the  tour of the Conifex bioenergy plant in Mackenzie as part of their  northern B.C. tour.
