Prince George, B.C.-  Councillor Garth Frizzell  will be heading up the effort to examine the possibility of developing a special covenant  that would  assist and  support veterans and their families.

Conception Bay South Newfoundland, and Halton Hills Ontario already have such covenants in place.

Councillor Murry Krause supported the  move, “As long as it doesn’t let the department of Veterans Affairs off the hook in any way.”

“It’s a little bit vague in that we don’t  know what it would lead to in a financial impact  down the road” said Mayor Shari Green,  but she does support  looking into  development of such a covenant.

Councillor Frank Everitt also threw his support behind the effort “Veterans are the folks that got us where we are today.”
